History

Woodburn Family Learning Center was established in December 1969. There was no child care options in Woodburn, Oregon when Woodburn Family Learning Center was started. For almost 10 years, the daycare services were provided at the different buildings throughout Woodburn. Then, in September 1978, the Woodburn Family Learning Center moved into it’s current location on Newberg Highway. As a non-profit organization, the goal for the past 50 years has been to have affordable child care for families in the Woodburn area. In an effort to keep the monthly tuition low for the parents needing child care, the Woodburn Family Learning Center has raised additional funds from the community to take care of ongoing needs for supplies and building improvement. Since July 2017, there has been over $200,000 invested at Woodburn Family Learning Center. Below are some of the bigger items that have been purchased:

  • New Roof
  • 4 New Heat Pumps
  • Replaced all fluorescent lights with LED fixtures
  • New commercial refrigerator
  • New carpet in baby room
  • New baby cribs
  • Painted interiors walls in 2020
  • New commercial stove in January 2023
  • Painted exterior building in June 2023
  • Kitchen upgrade in June 2023
  • 2 rooms converted from storage to classrooms in February 2024
